Michael Schumacher confessed himself unhappy with his British Grand Prix after he finished ninth while team-mate Nico Rosberg drove to the podium.

"Again a race which I am not really happy about today," said Schumacher. "It was OK and seeing Nico on the podium is good for the team but my race was obviously less rewarding. I was in traffic for most of the race and did not really have a clear track.

"After the pit stop where I had to push really hard to make it in front of Rubens, I unfortunately made a mistake out of a slow corner which put me off the track. That cost me a lot of time plus two positions and that was it for today. We now look towards Hockenheim where we obviously will do everything to perform in the best possible way."

Schumacher also revealed he is hoping to race a new W01 chassis as soon as possible in order to rectify his handling issues.

"I was hoping to get a new chassis at Hockenheim as I have been driving the current one for a long time," Schumacher told German Sky television. "But it [the new car] will probably only be ready for Spa."

Team Ross Brawn did confirm that a latest update package for the W01 car will be ready in time for the German Grand Prix.

"There are a few changes, but as we have seen with McLaren, it's not easy when you can't test," said Brawn. "We will try the changes on Friday [at Hockenheim] and hope that they will work."
