Vitaly Petrov made another strong effort towards saving his career as a Renault driver in Hungary with his fifth place making him the best value for money driver of the race.

The Russian is a pay driver who contributes an estimated $15m to Renault's annual budget in return for his drive, which made him the only driver in Hungary who scored points at no cost to his team. His nearest rival, Nico Hulkenberg, cost Williams $3,300 per point he scored in the race.

In terms of team value for money, Red Bull Racing was the best-performing team, spending $270,000 for each point it scored in the race where Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel finished first and second. The second best performing team was Sauber, which spent $470,000 per point as it got both cars in the top ten for the first time this season.

The data in this report is from the Formula Money ROI Review, a PDF report produced after each Grand Prix detailing the business implications of the race. Data in the ROI Review includes team and driver value for money calculations, sponsorship exposure values and print media coverage totals.
