HBOGame of Thrones season 4 has become the fastest-selling box set in over 10 years
The show's fourth season has been flying off the shelves since it went on sale last week, making it the biggest-selling DVD box set since sketch show Little Britain, which sold 224,000 copies of its first series back in 2004.
It also beats the previous record for the award-winning fantasy series, whose third series sold 150,000 copies in the same time last year.
DVD sales have been in decline for several years, as downloads and streaming have replaced purchases of physical copies of movie and TV shows, making the phenomenal sales figures for the latest installment of the sex 'n' swords drama even more impressive.
Based on books by George R. R. Martin, Game of Thrones has built a loyal audience in the UK. This year's season finale, which saw the deaths of several characters, was watched by 1.3 million UK fans on Sky Atlantic, with hundreds of thousands more tuning in on catch-up.

Fans who have yet to watch the fourth season had better plan a binge-watching marathon soon, as the show returns for its fifth series in April.
The first episode is due to be screened in the UK on Monday April 13, while US fans will get it one day earlier. However, a handful of lucky fans will win the chance to attend the world premiere at the Tower of London on Wednesday 18 March.
Sky Atlantic are to run a competition with 25 tickets to the star-studded event up for grabs, with details to be revealed soon.
And what can fans expect from the show's fifth series? According to creator George RR Martin, a bloodbath. Well, this Game of Thrones after all…
Speaking at the Writers' Guild Awards, Martin warned viewers that no-one is safe. "People are going to die who don't die in the books. So even the book readers will be unhappy," he joked.
